The Proposal

It was a star-studded night in a middle of a bioluminescence lake, where the microorganisms in the water glow when shaken. Amidst the glittering sky and glowing water, I proposed to Ekta on a kayak. No, I did not kneel down because of logistic reasons. The next thing I know, the sparkle on her finger and the glow on her face was brighter than anything I have ever seen. But little do people know that the whole “proposal in a kayak” was a well thought of setup. It was a total win-win situation for me. I knew the answer was going to be a "yes" because Ekta cannot swim and she had no choice except to say “yes” or be left in the middle of the lagoon to be a part of the glowing lake. I have to say she was smart and took the right step :-p

I thought that I did a good job surprising her, but there was a surprise waiting for me as well. Word had got around about my impending proposal so she had a ring made for me as well. Her point was if she has to wear a ring, then I should as well – to ward off pretty girls around my periphery!!! Funny enough I wear the ring and everyone thinks that I am married… If I get asked how my wife is, I would just let it go rather than explain the whole story!!! The irony is that her ring had to be sent for some repairs, so she has not been able to flaunt it. She’s not telling me how often guys buy her drinks when she goes out!!!
